The Burn is thrilled to welcome Angel's Envy to Bourbon Base camp for the very first time…and they are bringing some wonderful whiskies to celebrate the debut!
Angels' Envy turned the bourbon world on its head over a decade ago with Lincoln Henderson and his son Wes Henderson introduced a lineup of whiskies exclusively finished in other barrels. Since then, the brand has exploded in popularity and sales.
Straight from the Louisville distillery and headquarters, Brand Ambassador Titus Teague will share the unique story of Angel's Envy along with three exceptional pours. Guests will taste the brand's Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrel, a Private Select Single Barrel and the rare, limited 2021 release Angel's Envy Bourbon Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks!
Titus joined the hospitality industry by serving at The Silver Dollar, known for its robust bourbon offerings, specializing in single barrels and vintage bottles. Titus quickly fell in love with bartending, and his passion and interest in spirits flourished. In 2018, he joined the Angel’s Envy team as a Cocktail Specialist, and In his current role as Brand Ambassador, Titus creates connections within the community, bringing a mix of product knowledge and cocktail expertise.

It is a near impossible task to find a Kentucky Bourbon more iconic and well known than Maker's Mark. In fact, if you were to remove every word from the label, leaving only the brand’s logo and signature red wax, everyone from Paducah to Pikeville would still know exactly which bourbon is in that bottle.
The Burn Team is thrilled to raise our glass to a Bluegrass State original and welcome back Kentucky Distillery Diplomat Chaz Fister and Maker’s Mark to the VIP Tasting Tent to share some exceptional whisky out of Loretto, Kentucky!
Chaz has been featured in our VIP Tasting Tent twice before and, each time he has managed to raise the bar by sharing newly released, hard-to-find and rare extra-aged bottles. All remarkable since as recently as 15 years ago, Maker’s Mark distilled and bottled just one product - their everyday Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. But with an expanding audience and more nuanced palates, Maker’s Mark has several new releases a year ranging from their popular Wood Finishing Bourbon Series to the Cellar Aged Series.
Chaz tells us that he’s cashing in favors and pulling out all the stops in order to bring some eyebrow-raising Maker’s Mark bottles to this event. We’ll post the final bottle line-up here once all is locked in, but Chaz never disappoints. Along with a wonderful line-up of pours, this tasting session will include colorful stories spanning the brand’s 70-year history back to 1953 when Bill Samuels Sr. purchased the abandoned Burks Distillery for $35,000. Since then, the brand has championed bourbon innovation while honoring history. You can expect some fascinating details on how Maker’s Mark runs a bourbon distillery that’s not quite like anyone else.
